Designing Interactive Multimedia Systems [Book]

This work provides both a theoretical background and practical guidelines in the area of design and developments of interactive multimedia systems. It consists of examples and sample case studies taking the reader through the design and development process steps. The theoretical backbone of the book includes discussion of HCI, particularly user interface design, and other related issues such as usability engineering.

The practical issues it looks at include: media integration issues; hypermedia design models; multimedia authoring tools, and the design and development process. The book also includes demo versions of authoring tools and galleries of developed products to give the student insight into what is possible through multimedia.
